About
"During our first semester of the master course “Medialogy” at Aalborg University in Esbjerg, we were confronted with the semester theme “Merging Senses”. Our task was to find a topic within this field which was worth to be investigated and would bring new findings. At the best we would be able to cover as well aspects of interaction, digital culture or multimodal perception, which were subjects of this semester. We agreed to take a closer look on Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI), because we deal with this nearly every day as media workers.
For this reason we made enquiries about current techniques for input devices which convert signals of our senses into data the computer can work with. Beside haptical methods like a touchpad, voice systems draw our attention. We decided to build up a system, which is able to translate the audio signals of the human speech into commands for the computer.
These commands should be used to navigate on a website without using mouse or keyboard."
